I could almost have written this very interesting upcoming article in Medical Hypotheses. It seems we live in a world where aggression must be contained often and not expressed. This leads to changes in hormone signalling, particularly serontonin signalling, and reduced expression of healing factors---these are expressed in anticipation of injury by our forward-looking genes always striving for allostasis.
