I have seen the this television commercial that before, but this time it annoyed me.  This concept is the "theory"  behind the well advertised health and fitness program. 

This is mixing metaphors. Confusion is a term that applies only to thought and hence the brain and not to muscle. A muscle responds precisely to the demands imposed on it.
