Cutting grains and doing some brief sprints can be helpful in combating COPD. It is an inflammatory disease and an acidic grain-based diet that is heavy on carbohydrates and lectins promote an inflammatory state through out the body. An email from someone who tried the strategies in The New Evolution Diet as a way of combating COPD.
Hey Art:
Bought the book. Gave to my girlfriend to read. Both are going to work it. I am 61 and most people would say I look 50, have always worked out but haven’t been able to accomplish what I have wanted which is to really get back into shape. I also was diagnosed with COPD last year and refused to take the medications, but have been pushing myself with breathing and brisk walks. In only a couple weeks of no grains and the short sprints I have lost 6 lbs, Oh I am 5’11’ and weighed 187 with pretty athletic build but too big a gut 36”. Anyway, my breathing has become as normal as it has been in years and I feel 20 years younger. Am really looking forward to the next 6 months and if this continues to work as it seems to be, I will be writing something to all COPD people and encourage them on a natural way to fight this dang disease. I guess one other thing to point out is that I have never taken prescription drugs, except maybe a ZPak and have always been very healthy so I was floored when they told me but may be the first one to whip this thing.
Thanks for the book and the hints
