Mark Sisson sent me this regarding Norman Stadler, a former Ironman World Champion. The gist of it: "Double Ironman World Champion Normann Stadler underwent heart surgery at the Heidelberg University Hospital on July 4th to repair a failing heart valve and a nearby aortic aneurysm." Look at the guy. He looks great. But, you can't see the damage that Ironman events and training do inside.
