"Do you have any ideas on how you would strength train and condtion a 13.5 year old basketball player for high level AAU competition? My son plays and trains and competes so often that I have been hesitant to start him on a strength/conditioning program."
Strength training will give him the capacity to do the other things he has to do. But, it must be very brief and preferably before practice. Strange point, I know, but it will energize his neural pathways so he is in a better learning state.
