I train for poise and symmetry. You don't always get what you want, but you can always get nearer to your goal. I try to open the chest, and do exercises for that, and I always think "lift my heart". It gives you a positive attitude and look.

In the end, your abdominal fat is primarily a function of your metabolism. It has little to do with burning calories or restricting your intake.
