I happened to have seen most of a show the other night. The amount of stress the contestants are under is unbelievable and the cortisol that goes with it gets in the way of their weight loss and their progress toward a healthier metabolism.

My old school, UCLA, is doing great research again. This summary of an article published in the
Journal of Political Economy
shows how counterproductive FDR's policies were. The false proposition that FDR ended the Depression echoes the present debate.

The top ten countries visiting my site are a bit surprising. There are, in all, readers from about 115 countries visiting. Poland ranking at fifth did surprise me. So did Brazil at tenth. I'm not sure why I am surprised, but I am.

I thought I might share this advice that I sent to one of our members; it may let you be more tolerant of your brain's fear of starvation so you can relax and let the good things that EF will bring just happen.
Your case is actually easy. Your fat is stealing energy from your brain (and your brain may be shrunken too) and your brain thinks you are starving. As far as the brain is concerned, it is starving because the glucose is being sent directly into your fat stores because your insulin is so high.
